A micro-credential is an accreditation issued by Tecmilenio University, granted to the learner after having successfully completed an educational experience that integrates relevant topics in the knowledge area to which the micro-credential belongs to. This experience consists of educational resources such as readings, exercises, quizzes, activities, evidence, and projects, which allow the learner to develop skills at an application level.

The micro-credentials are taught in a self-directed learning model, which allows the learners to advance at their required pace, reviewing the contents and doing the proposed activities over a period of three months.

In addition, the content, the activities, and the open educational resources are always available on the academic platform.

A micro-credential is made up of one or more topics. In each of them, you will find the explanations which must be read carefully to understand all the theoretical concepts.

After reading the content, you will consult the open educational resources which can be videos or readings obtained from reliable sources of information that will help you to expand your knowledge on the subject.

Once you finish with the study material, you will have to work on the activities. These are of a formative nature and have no value on the final evaluation but doing them can be very useful to develop the competencies defined in the micro-credential.

To finish the topics, you will answer some quizzes in which you will have three opportunities to solve them. A score of 70 or more in each one is considered a passing grade.

You must complete the activities in each of the topics included in the micro-credential to obtain the corresponding accreditation.
