Activity objective

To envision and practice the exporting process of manufactured goods from Mexico to the United States.

Instructions

1. Search for a couple of articles in reliable sources about the economic ties between the United States and Mexico. The articles must be recent, no older than two years.
2. Read both documents of the current state of the US-Mexico economic relations.
3. Think of a specific product from your local community that you would like it to be exported to the United States and explain the reason.
4. Now let's suppose you are in charge of exporting a full container of the product of choice. As part of the simulation of the process, include a list of all the paperwork required both in Mexico and the target market (the US and a specific state, if applicable). Fill out all the paperwork and present your documentation in chronological order.
5. The process also requires hiring a customs agent in the target market. You must look for one that is specialized in the kind of product you selected.
6. Choose a method of transportation and a port of entry and justify both selections.

Checklist

• Selection of product, exporting process and target market presented in terms of international trade.       
• Sample of all the required exporting paperwork (already filled out) and presented in chronological order.      
• Selection of the American customs agent is appropriate.
• Description and justification of the selected method of transportation and port of entry are correct.
